Doctrinal Statement
1. The Bible
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice and is sufficient for teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
2. God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. These three are coequal, coeternal, and one in essence (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30).
3. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
We believe in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, and performed miracles as recorded in the Scriptures. We believe in His atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, and His eventual return in glory to judge the living and the dead (John 1:1-14; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Acts 1:9-11).
4. The Holy Spirit
We believe in the person of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. The Holy Spirit indwells believers, empowering them for godly living and service. The Holy Spirit distributes spiritual gifts to believers for the edification of the church (John 16:7-11; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
5. Humanity
We believe that all people are created in the image of God, but through Adam's sin, humanity fell into sin and is in need of salvation. Every person is separated from God due to sin and is in need of redemption through Jesus Christ (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; 6:23).
6. Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a free gift from God, not based on human works but on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Salvation includes forgiveness of sins, the imputation of Christ's righteousness, and the gift of eternal life (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 14:6; Romans 5:1).
7. The Church
We believe in the universal church, the body of Christ, which consists of all believers in Jesus Christ from every nation, tribe, and tongue. The local church is an assembly of believers who gather to worship God, grow in the Word, and fulfill the Great Commission. We believe in the importance of baptism by immersion and the observance of the Lord's Supper as ordinances of the church (Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Acts 2:42-47).
8. The Christian Life
We believe that the Christian life is one of growth and transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit. Believers are called to live lives of holiness, obedience, and service to God and others. The Christian life involves love for God, love for others, and the active pursuit of righteousness (Romans 12:1-2; Philippians 3:12-14; 1 Peter 1:15-16).
9. The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal, visible, and bodily return of Jesus Christ to this earth. His return will be in glory to establish His kingdom, judge the living and the dead, and make all things new (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11-16; 21:1-5).
10. Eternity
We believe in the existence of eternal life and eternal punishment. All people will either spend eternity in the presence of God in heaven or be separated from Him in hell. This eternal state is determined by one's relationship to Jesus Christ (John 3:16; Matthew 25:46; Revelation 20:11-15).
